Roselli Foreign Car Repair San Jose - Ferrari 348 What is the Best Oil to use?

Opinions may vary but;

If you are not intending any track use then basically any full synthetic 5W-40 oil will be just fine.

If you are intending any track use, look for 5W-40 oils with an HTHS number of 4.2 or above and 1100 ppm of zinc (or phosphorous).

If you are paranoid about wear and expensive bills, also look for 1100 ppm of zinc (or phosphorous)

Neither of these numbers (HTHS or zinc) will be found on the bottle so you have to do your own research on the net before going and getting the oil. Sorry, that is the state of the oil industry today.

BUT MOST OF ALL  STAY AWAY from oils with the STAR BURST symbol.
