Roselli Foreign Car Repair San Jose - Howard Hughes' Rare 1936 Lincoln Tagged at $1 Million
Rare cars rarely go on auction. Anyone who will see a 1936 Aero Mobile Lincoln may have their jaws drop to the floor especially when they know the history that it was part of Howard Hughes’ legacy.
One of the most famous, intriguing American Socialite, Howard Hughes was known to come up with his odd but wonderful creations. He built the biggest flying boat and other interesting works which are very impressive.
Hughes was also a film director and producer, an aviator, and an industrialist. He had the finances to cover for his fancies being considered one of the richest persons in the world. His machines helped him conquer some of the world records.
Howard Hughes’ knowledge of the science of flight met with the world of automotive in this 1936 Lincoln that came to be known as the Aero Mobile.
He reduced the weight of the car dramatically and modified the engine so that in can zoom into speeds beyond 100 mph. During his time, a speed like it was unheard of with passenger cars.
The Lincoln still sports the classy face with the bolted tail that will remind anyone of the imagination of its creator. It may not win any car shows based on look, but its legacy as one of Hughes’ creations make the 1936 beauty a big winner.
Big winner it is. It got a $1 million bid during the Tulsa, Oklahoma Leake Collector auction.
